Illinois Governor appoints liberal Catholic priest to state ethics commission
5/18/2004 9:01:00 PM by Matt C. Abbott
According to news reports, pro-abortion Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich (D) has appointed to the recently formed state ethics commission Father John Cusick, a Catholic priest of the Archdiocese of Chicago and director of the Archdiocese’s Young Adult Ministry.
Cusick resides at Old St. Patrick’s Church - the same church that Sen. Dick Durbin and Mayor Richard Daley, both of whom are pro-abortion, attend. (Daley, in fact, is a good friend of Old St. Patrick’s pastor, Father Jack Wall.)
I can’t say I’m surprised that a priest like Father Cusick would be appointed to such a position. Cusick is, after all, one of the “good ol’ boys.” He’s politically astute, and he knows what NOT to publicly talk about, namely, abortion and the homosexual agenda. The “divisive” issues, some might say.
Indeed, Cusick is an ideal choice for the state “ethics” commission. Just check out the website for the Young Adult Ministry (www.yamchicago.org) and you’ll see what I mean.
Consider the “Websites of Interest” section. While a few sites listed are safely orthodox, there are also a few that are anything but orthodox, including the ultra-liberal “multi-faith” Beliefnet.com (which even has a link to “Pagan and Earth-based” religions) and the site for Father Andrew Greeley, the renegade Irish Democrat cleric who thus far has not revealed the information he claims to have in “safekeeping” regarding an alleged murderous clergy pedophile ring.
Yes, indeed - Cusick is an ideal choice for any 21st century secular, humanist “ethics” commission
